5 Crazy Ways to Open a Beer!

One of the best reasons to visit Casablanca is our wonderful selection of draught beer at the Lake of the Ozarks. From clean and malty beers to lager beers from Belgium, we have the cold brew that's perfect for you. We take our beer very seriously, and we have over 15 craft beers on tap. These kegs of beer are kept at 28 degrees and then pumped through our glycol system which brings these flavors to your frosted glass at 24 degrees. We also have a selection of your favorite bottled beers, cold and ready to enjoy.

While we do have a bottle opener, sometimes it's fun to try and open your bottles in an unconventional way. Here are eight unique ways to open your brew from using your body, to different "tools" you may have on hand!

Your Ring

If you have a ring that isn't easily scratched (stainless steel, tungsten, or titanium) you'll always carry a bottle opener with you! With the ring on, place the cap of your beer against your palm, with the bottom of the lid hooked onto your ring. With the right force, you can pop the top right off of that bad boy!

Chainsaw

Let's not forget this very manly way of opening your beer! The goal is to catch the tooth of the chainsaw on the bottom of the cap and allow the pull of the chain to get the top off without breaking the glass. Watch the video to see how it's done.

Spoon

You can use a spoon as leverage to pop the top of your beer. Place the end of the spoon under the cap, and push downward.

Another Beer Bottle

You can get two beers and use the second one to open your first one. Turn one beer upside down, and hook the lids onto each other. Pull opposite directions, and the lid of your first beer should pop right off! As for your second beer...you'll just have to get creative!

Hammer

While we don't condone drinking beers and working with equipment, you can use your hammer to open a beer. Place the edge of the cap on the top of the hammer head, with one hand on the neck of the beer, and the other high on the hammer handle. Slam the end of the hammer down on the countertop, and if you used enough force, your cap should pop right off! It's hoppy hammer time, folks!

Here are a few other easy ways to get your beer open, sometimes with very simple objects like keys, countertops, dollar bills, and more!

Best Bar at the Lake of the Ozarks

Whether you like your ice cold beer in a glass bottle, or straight out of the tap, we can serve it up to you just the way you like. We can boast of two restaurants in one, meaning you'll have an even more delicious experience. Casablanca is located on the top portion of the restaurant. You'll find the best bar food at the Lake of the Ozarks, as well as a good 'ole time!

January is Be Kind To Food Servers Month

Casablanca realizes the importance of having a fun and hardworking staff. From our chefs to our food servers, our team takes pride in providing you with an excellent dining experience. We also realize how hard our servers work to provide you with a fun night out enjoying the live music at Casablanca or the amazing food. Since January is "Be Kind To Food Servers Month," we thought we'd highlight a few ways that you can show some love to your favorites servers!

Realize That Waiting Tables Isn't Easy

Every job has challenges and waiting tables certainly can have a few. Sometimes it's been an incredibly busy day, or maybe another server called in sick and everyone is having to cover more tables than usual. Offer a smile to your server and some kind words. Maybe you can make their day easier through kindness.

Make Eye Contact

Making eye contact is one of the best ways to show respect. It can also make it easier for your server to understand what you're saying when placing your order - which could help keep order mixups to a minimum.

Hold the Phone

Several studies have been done to show that servers aren't changing the way they serve, but that the use of cell phones it what's actually slowing down service. In fact, a one hour and five-minute table turnover turned into a one hour and fifty-five-minute turnover when the use of cell phones was added. From taking photos of your food, texting before ordering, having your server take a group shot, and more. That's not to say that your server isn't happy to take a photo for your group, but remember to keep phone use to a minimum when dining out. This won't just help your server out, but it will probably make your dining partner feel much more important too!

Holidays Can Slow Down Service

This is just something to know about the restaurant industry. When we are booked up for the holidays, and we have a full house at our amazing Lake of the Ozarks restaurant, sometimes the service can slow down just a little. Valentine's day is coming up, so it's time to book your table, and enjoy a delicious meal with your loved one.

Tip with Respect

For many servers, their tip is a large part of their earnings. If you've received good service, don't be afraid to show it. As a general rule, you should tip at least 15% - 20%, and of course, you can always tip more than that!

Enjoy a Meal with the Best Service at the Lake of the Ozarks

We are thankful to have such amazing customers who come hang out with us and always provide a great time! From our amazing bands who provide the best live music at the Lake of the Ozarks, to our great selection of beers on tap, we're sure you'll have a great time when you eat at Casablanca. Don't forget to thank you to your favorite server, and book your table for your Valentine's Day dinner!
