History of the Onion Ring
- There are many stories about the creation of the onion ring, but one of the earliest is in John Molland's 1802 cookbook, "TheArt of Cookery Made Easy and Refined." The recipe included frying onions dipped in a batter made with parmesan cheese. Then you dip them in a sauce made from butter and mustard.
