The Boomchux

The Boomchux bring an old-style country sound to the stages of the Lake of the Ozarks - in the best way. This string band shines with the sounds of guitar, upright bass and steel guitar playing Old Time Western and Swing Revival. You won't want to miss their music at Casablanca! They'll be playing at the best restaurant at the Lake of the Ozarks on Friday, May 26th  - you won't want to miss it.

Donny Larson

Donny Larsen has become a favorite of the Lake Area audiences. His music career spans more than 40 years and includes numerous chart-topping hits and performances alongside industry icons such Jimmy Buffett, Willie Nelson and Glenn Frye. Larsen has opened for close to 50 national music acts including Starship, Head East, and Brett Michaels - and he's going to be at Casablanca THIS WEEKEND. Fun Facts About Hamburgers

Join Us for Hot Summer Nights!

There's nothing better than enjoying a night on the Bagnell Dam Strip, and if you need an excuse - we've got one! Hot Summer Nights is coming back to the strip for another great summer season, and we can't wait. Casablanca Bar & Grill is proud to be a sponsor for this event, and we hope that you can cruise on down and hang out with us for this fun event at the Lake of the Ozarks. It's been around for 10 years, so it's a great way to get out and enjoy time with friends and family.

2017 - Cruising Time Again!

Every year there are some fun themes that are chosen for each of the nights, and all of them celebrate the great history of Route 66 and fun vintage vehicles. Mark your calendars for these fun nights through the summer! This event is held rain or shine from 6 PM to 11 PM, and it's a family friend event that you can bring the kids or grandkids to.

May 12th - Cruising Through the Years

You can expect to see many different vehicles from many generations when you cruise the strip during Host summer Nights. Not only will you see many different years, but you'll hear them, too! Generations of music will be blasted down the strip and take you back to the good 'ole days. We will also have a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by the new Easy Street Dessert & Wine Bar!

June 9th - It's a 66 Day-Route 66 Returns

June's Hot Summer Nights theme pays tribute to the grand old stretch of road that used to be the "Main Street of America." Route 66 used to run from Chicago to Los Angeles, covering 2,400 miles. This year's tribute will also include a special visit from Mikaela Carson, who will open the June Hot Summer Nights event with the Star Spangled Banner. Mikaela served as Missouri's first Miss Route 66 and is currently service as Miss City of Fountains 2017.

July 14th - Bikes Trikes & Trucks

While they LOVE to see the vintage cars at Hot Summer Nights, they also love to see motorcycles, both old and new, as well as great classic, custom trucks. Bring your ride out to the Bagnell Dam and show it off - we can't wait to see it!

August 11th - Muscle & Custom Cars

Are you a street racer with a show-off car? We would like to extend a special invitation toYOU to attend the August Hot Summer Nights. Wikipedia considers the definition of "muscle car" as an American term used to refer to a variety of high-performance automobiles. We want to see YOURS out on the strip in August!

September 8th - A Salute to Our Heros; Military, Police, Fire Fighters and EMTs

Our Lake area military, law enforcement, firefighters, and EMTs - those who put their lives on the line every day protecting and serving their community, and we look forward to honoring them at this event. Please join us as we celebrate an amazing summer with Hot Summer Nights, and honor our heroes.

Beer Lore - The Truth Uncovered

If you're like us, there is nothing quite like sitting down to a cold brew after a long day. Whether you pop open a can, screw the top off of a bottle, or come down to the best bar at the Lake of the Ozarks and get it on tap, there are many ways to enjoy your favorite brew. There are many myths that surround this popular beverage, and while these myths may not affect the way you enjoy your drink, some of them may be surprising. Here are a few funny and interesting myths about beer and the truth that can set you free.

Myth:
Beer is meant to be served ice cold.

Truth:
The serving temperature of beer actually varies by style. Did you know that you can't taste beer if it's too cold? Pilsners and IPAs are usually served around 40-44º F, while heavier beers are enjoyed around 55ºF.

Myth:

Craft beers must be aged.

Truth:

While some beers (typically, ones with high alcohol content) should be aged, there are others, like hoppy beers, should be consumed as fresh as possible.

Myth:
When a cold beer gets warm, it's skunked.

Truth:
Temperature changes can affect your beer in some ways, but skunking it is not one of them. Skunked beer is actually caused when a beer is exposed to light, especially if it's a hoppy beer.

Myth:

Dark beer = Strong Beer

Truth:

The color of your beer actually has no correlation on the alcohol or even caloric content. Dark beer's grains are just roasted longer which causes the dark color.

Myth:
The best beers are served in glass bottles.

Truth:
Cans are actually the best way to package beers. They are protected from the light and oxygen better than you will find in bottled beer.

Myth:

All beer tastes the same.

Truth:

If you take the time to try many different beers, you will find that there is an incredible diversity between the flavors in a beer. The styles can range from bitter to sweet to sour. Beer can also vary between no alcohol content to being stronger than wine!

Myth:
Lagers and Pilsners are the same.

Truth:
Pilsners are actually just one of the many lager types. A Pilsner beer is golden and refreshing, while lagers can also be dark, malty, and very strong.

A Magic Night with The Magic Dragon Car Show 🐉

Summer is right around the corner, and the Lake is waking up from its winter sleep. Events are popping up all over, and every weekend seems to be hopping with excitement. The Bagnell Dam Strip is no exception! There are some amazing events coming up, and we want you to be the first to know about them! In just a few weeks there is ONE MASSIVE SHOW & legendary weekend hitting the Strip, and you'll definitely want to be there. Here are all of the details about the Magic Dragon Car Show!

About the Event

This unique show is meant for all makes, models, and years of cars, trucks, and motorcycles. In 2016 this fun event at the Lake of the Ozarks celebrates its 28th year! We had phenomenal weather, about 1,000 participants, and almost 10,000 spectators! With over 25 years of show experience, you can be assured that you will enjoy yourself. The Historic Bagnell Dam Strip is the ideal location for our fun event, and we even close the strip down to normal traffic during show hours. This ensures that we only have show vehicles within the boundaries! The electric atmosphere is incredible, some even say it's like being on the set of "American Graffiti".

How Did They Get Their Name?

Have you ever looked at an aerial view of the Lake of the Ozarks? Some folks say that it looks just like a big dragon (a dragon that is over 90 miles long!). It winds its way through the Ozark hills, and several years ago the area was dubbed "The Land of the Magic Dragon." At the very first show in 1987, they used the name "Magic Dragon" and it has stuck with them ever since.

Event Details

This event is hosted on the Bagnell Dam Strip in Lake Ozark, MO. From May 5th through May 7th you can walk around the strip admiring the awesome show vehicles.

Car Show Rules

All participants and spectators are required to follow common rules to keep everyone safe and help them enjoy the event.

Parking:

• NO ANGLE PARKING in the center lane. Center lane parking is end to end within the parking spot as marked
• NO SAVING SPOTS - Parking is first come, first served. Those who save spots may be asked to leave the show

General Rules:

• The windshield card MUST be visible on the driver side dash to enter the event area and during show
• Speed Limit within the show shall not exceed 5mph
• NO Burnouts/ Peel outs
• NO Alcohol – Open Container Law will be Enforced by the Lake Ozark PD (so come into our Lake of the Ozarks bar for the best beer!)
• NO Loud Stereos
• NO Personal ATV’s/Side-by-Sides/Golf Carts or other utility vehicles are permitted
