This week holds some pretty momentous holidays for those who love a cold brew. New Beer’s Eve is on Friday, April 6th, and Beer Day is on Saturday, April 7th! With both of these holidays falling close to the weekend, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than by indulging in your favorites, as well as trying a few new varieties! Here are a few fun facts about beer, along with some of the fantastic items with have on tap at Casagrotto.

• Craft Beer is good for your bones! Beer has high levels of silicon, which promotes strong bones.
• Cenosillicaphobia is the fear of an empty glass. Make sure you keep a well-stocked fridge.
• In 2010, the world’s oldest drinkable beer was found on a Baltic Sea shipwreck. The ship is believed to have sailed over 200 years ago.
• The United States is the second largest hop producer in the world (behind Germany).
• Frosty glasses will cause your beer to foam.

🍀St. Patrick's Day at the Pub🍺

One of our favorite days of the year is coming in just a FEW days! St. Patrick’s Day at the Lake of the Ozarks is a great time of year. It’s even better when you can celebrate it at the best pub at the Lake of the Ozarks. Casablanca at the Lake of the Ozarks has a fun day planned for you, so stay tuned because you won’t want to miss this Irish party.

St. Patrick’s Day at Casablanca

It’s going to be quite the St. Patrick’s Day at Casablanca! We’ve got live entertainment, incredible food, and the best beer at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Tom Newell will be playing from 3 PM to 6 PM, and then Don Akers is keeping the tunes coming from 7 PM to 11 PM.

To top it off, we’ll be serving our specialty pizza for St. Patrick’s Day! Our famous Rueben Pizza #yum. It's made with 1000 Island Pizza Sauce, corned beef, and sour kraut. After that, we top it with our special pizza blend with swiss cheese, all on a rye flour pizza dough with caraway seed! This pizza is a favorite amongst the pizza lovers, beer lovers, St. Patrick’s Day lovers … basically, everyone! Irish Slang to Get You In the Mood

The Irish Take Saint Patrick’s Day Seriously

Saint Patrick’s Day is a huge deal in his old stomping grounds (duh!). It’s a national holiday in both Ireland and Northern Ireland.

It Used to Be a Dry Holiday

Of course, because it was strictly religious holiday in Ireland during most of the 20th century, the nation’s pubs were closed for business on March 17. (The one exception went to beer vendors at the big national dog show, which was always held on Saint Patrick’s Day.) In 1970, the day was converted to a national holiday, and the stout resumed flowing.

There’s a Reason for The Shamrocks

How did the shamrock become associated with Saint Patrick? According to Irish legend, the saint used the three-leafed plant as a metaphor for the Holy Trinity when he was first introducing Christianity to Ireland.

"Came for dinner with my wife on an oddly warm February Friday night. We sat outside and the beautiful weather complemented the great food, solid service, and friendly clientele. It's certainly crowded--ten minutes before we left, we already had a group of women asking if they could lay claim to our table--but it's worth it.

We went simple with the food, with a salad and a Margherita pizza. The salad was excellent, with what tasted like house-made blue cheese dressing. The pizza was thin crust that had a nice mix of chewiness and burnt crispiness (in a good way, not a bad way). Pretty cheesy, with rich pesto sauce, but we were starving so the non-diet approach was perfect.

Crawl to Casablanca

While fall brings an end to the summer season, that doesn't mean there aren't still some great events hitting the calendar! One of the biggest and best is the Lake Stock Fall Crawl. This fun event is a great chance to get out, have fun with friends, and check out all of the local excitement that's still open for the winter! While many restaurants hibernate for the winter, the best pub at the Lake of the Ozarks keeps it's doors open all year for you to enjoy. Here are some of the details about the Lake Stock Fall Crawl - you won't want to miss it!

Wood Stock On Wheels

The Lake of the Ozarks is the HOT spot for great music, delicious food, and incredible booze. Each of the locations that you can stop at will have a live music for you to enjoy, and Casablanca, we've got the incredible Don Akers playing at 7 PM on November 4th. He's going to bring the house down with his amazing tunes and we'll light it up with our incredible craft beer at the Lake of the Ozarks.

TIME: 6:00 PM- 1:30 AM

Cost: $10:00 gets you an all-access pass to every participating location along with bus transportation to and from. That’s one $10 cover charge for 10 plus locations offering live music and a safe ride home.

A Note From Lake Stock Fall Crawl

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!

Buses will transport you from participating hotels to your favorite local participating establishment and get you home safe. Buses will run a continuous loop of the bars so you will be able to catch all the music and never have to get behind the wheel.
