6 Reasons to Enjoy a Glass of Craft Beer

There's nothing quite like the delicious taste of craft beers. There's also nothing craftier than a craft beer - the way it's made down to the way it's enjoyed is detailed and meticulous. At Casagrotto, we take our beer very seriously. We have over 15 craft beers on tap. These kegs of beer are kept at 28 degrees and then pumped through our glycol system which brings these flavors to your frosted glass at 24 degrees. Our craft beers at the Lake of the Ozarks are delicious and here are 6 reasons you should come enjoy one...or two!

1. Craft Beers are Tastier!

The smaller craft brewers are in the business to make a delicious beer. They aren't trying to cut costs, water down their beer and increase their stock prices. Larger commercial companies tend to make their beers as watery as possible, thus giving you "beer water", which is not as delicious for very obvious reasons. The craft breweries are dedicated to flavor and they spend their time focusing on quality. Choose taste - choose craft beer!

2. They Contain More Alcohol

Craft beers may come in many different shapes, sizes and flavors, but these beers will always pack a punch! Craft beers range from 5% - 10% abv (alcohol by volume), and some craft beers can even range from 20% - 40%! When you compare this to the "beer water" that is mass produced by more popular companies, you'll find they average about 2.5%...there truly is no comparison!

3. Craft Beers Offer Health Benefits

Yes, it's true. Beer is normally recognized for it's tendency to go to the gut and produce the infamous "beer belly", but there are many wonderful benefits you many not have known about! Craft beers contain soluble fiber, B vitamins, a range of antioxidants and you will find the richest source of silicon. Having silicon in your diet may help in countering osteoporosis. Everything in moderation of course, but craft beers offer health benefits that are worth noting!

4. Craft Beers Offer More Choices

There are almost 3,000 craft breweries in the United States alone. With these breweries developing thousands upon thousands of different, delicious and flavorful beers, you are not just limited to your same old, boring beers. Even if these breweries happen to brew the "same" beer, it will be different, and special in it's own way!

5. It Has Fewer Calories

This is relative of course. In one drinking session, if you are drinking "beer water", you may need six beers to match the flavor and alcohol content of just three craft beers. This is all supposition of course, but if you drink six boring beers with 100-110 calories in a 12-ounce serving you could get up to 660 calories, versus only three craft beers, which will generally be less than 200 calories a piece giving you no more than 600 calories all together. You are getting better beer, generally a better price, and fewer calories. Plus, craft beers taste better so you'll enjoy those calories more. Craft beer is meant to be enjoyed, not chugged, and definitely not watered down!

6. Different Beers for Different Reasons & Seasons!

Part of the fun in drinking a craft beer is having options! Some beers are better for specific seasons, like fall, summer, football, or spring. Craft beers can match every season, and you'll never have to drink the same old, boring beer. Whether you're going out with friends or drinking alone, there are plenty of different beers to enjoy. Go grab a craft beer and enjoy the varieties!
