Casa Apps You'll Love

Casablanca is one of the Lake's oldest bars, and we reside in a wonderful building right on the Bagnell Dam Strip. We love the historical aspect of our building about as much as we love the food that we serve here - which is a LOT. From delicious burgers, brick oven pizzas at the Lake of the Ozarks, and hot hoagies, we've got it all. But what we really want to focus on this week is our amazing apps. Casa apps are varied, delicious, and a perfect way to start your meal - so without further ado, check out these apps!

Casablanca Appetizers

Chili Cheese Fries

Chili cheese fries are the essence of American culture and tradition. The cheesy goodness combined with the spicy chili, and let's not forget those potato fries! This Casablanca classic is a combination of french fries, topped with your choice of our famous red meat or white chicken chili, shredded cheddar, and jack cheese, and finished with diced red onion.

Onion Rings

The perfect pair with a large juicy burger, or just on their own. Our onion rings are made from large fresh cut onions breaded in our own beer batter and then fried to a golden brown. Served with our house made Sriracha Aioli sauce.

Nachos

These are "nacho" ordinary app (too much??) We make these practically like a meal with tortilla chips, topped with lettuce, tomato, onion japalenos, white chicken chili, and sour cream.

Calamari

This is the lake, after all, our menu wouldn't be complete without some seafood to pair wonderfully with our lovely lake environment. The sliced calamari is hand breaded and served with horseradish aioli.

Chicken Tenders

This is a basic as it comes. Whether you just need a little pick-me-up before dinner, or your kids want them for dinner, they are amazing. Tender, delicious free range chicken, hand breaded and served with our house made grilled onion ranch or have them tossed in your favorite wing sauce.

Fried Pickles

A country classic, and one that we don't take lightly. Our fried pickles are absolutely delicious! Pickle spears hand breaded and fried, then served with our house tartar sauce. You'll love these.

Chicken Wings

Free-range chicken wings are fried and then char-grilled. Pick between your choice of sauce, breaded or naked.

Sauces

Teriyaki, rosemary & garlic, BBQ, hot.

The Best Apps at the Lake of the Ozarks

Casablanca is not only a favorite among the locals, but it's a wonderful hole in the wall place to visit for lake vacationers as well. The Best Beer & Burger Pairings

What are the two things that Casablanca does best? Beer and burgers, of course! Here at your favorite pub & grill at the Lake of the Ozarks, we not only specialize in great beer and burgers, but we know how to pair them too. As a rule of thumb, most beer connoisseurs say to match strength with strength. If you’re drinking a light beer, try pairing it with a lighter meal, such as a salad or pasta. They also say to find harmonies, meaning pair a beer and a meal with similar flavors so they don’t overpower one another. But remember this – When pairing our delicious beer with our delicious burgers, there’s no wrong answer! No matter what the experts say, eat and drink what YOU think tastes good. Besides, the most important part of coming out to Casablanca is having a great time and eating delicious food.

Though each of our burgers is specially made, they are all made with fresh ½ pound choice ground sirloin, served on local bakery grilled buns. Each burger also comes topped with fresh lettuce, tomato, and sweet red onion. Read on for our tasty twists on your classic grilled burger!

Black ‘N’ Spicy Burger : Faust, Vienna Style Lager – InBev

Spicy, grilled burgers pair great with lagers, so this pairing is a great fit. Our Black ‘N’ Spicy Burger is blackened and topped with pepper jack cheese and roasted red pepper. The Cajun spices in the burger complement the mild flavor of the beer. Faust is a German Pilsner with a light, amber color.

Tex Melt : Buffalo Sweat, Oatmeal Stout – Tallgrass Brewing

According to experts, stout beers pair perfectly with grilled meals and barbeque – so good thing our Tex Melt has both! Served on Texas Toast, this juicy burger is topped with melty cheddar cheese, delicious bbq sauce, and crispy onion rings. Buffalo Sweat is a dark, oatmeal stout described as a “beer brownie.” The perfect desert!

“Schwab” Burger : Schlafly Pale Ale, APA – Schlafly Brewing

What do you get when you pair a classic American beer with a classic American burger? You get this Schwab & Schlafly combo! Our “Schwab” Burger is our regular burger, topped with our standard lettuce, tomato, and sweet red onion. Schlafly Pale Ale is an American Pale Ale – a great choice for an alternative to an IPA.

Blue ‘Shroom Burger : Logboat Snapper, IPA – Logboat Brewing

India Pale Ales supposedly pair excellently with blue cheese, so our Blue ‘Shroom Burger is Logboat Snapper’s perfect match. This juicy burger is topped with our thick blue cheese spread, sautéed mushrooms, and delicious bacon. The blue cheese will balance out the hops in the IPA, but still allow the flavors to stand on their own.

Casa Burger : Unfiltered Wheat, Wheat Ale – Boulevard Brewing

For those long time Casa fans, we’ve got a great pairing for you. Our iconic Casa Burger plus Boulevard’s Unfiltered Wheat equals YUM! Light bodied wheat beers are sometimes tough to pair, but the seasoned egg over easy atop this fantastic burger makes this #1 sold beer in the Midwest shine. The Casa Burger’s cheddar cheese and bacon help to add even more flavor to the mix.

Hamburger Day for the Win!

Did you know that Memorial Day just so happens to also be Hamburger Day this year?! It’s the most appropriate lineup, and we aim to take advantage of this incredible celebration. Memorial Day is already known for BBQ’s, remembrance with friends, and it’s always filled with food. Not ironically, hamburgers are one of the most consumed foods for Memorial Day Weekend. If you want to try the best burger at the Lake of the Ozarks, we have a nice line up to showcase our burger menu!

The Best Burgers at the Lake of the Ozarks

Our burgers are made with fresh ½ pound choice ground sirloin, served on local bakery grilled buns. They’re topped with lettuce, tomato, and sweet red onion, plus the variety of delicious ingredients described below, and they come with a side item and a dill pickle spear.

Schwab Burger
Basically your standard burger in all its sirloin glory, simply topped with lettuce, tomato, and sweet red onion.

Blue 'Shroom Burger

There’s something about a good ‘ole slice of pizza paired with an ice cold beer. It fits any season, from the hot days of summer to the dreary days of winter. The best news is that this Friday, May 18th, is Pizza Party Day - so it’s the PERFECT time to come check out our great selection of beer and pizza at the Lake of the Ozarks! Here are a few pizza and beer pairings that we suggest to make your pizza eating experience the best.

Beer & Pizza Pairings

Have you always wondered what type of pizza you should eat with your favorite beer, or vice versa? Here are our favorite pizzas from the Casagrotto menu (the best pizza at the Lake of the Ozarks!), and what craft beer you should enjoy with it.

CHUCKY CHEESE & SCHLAFLY PALE ALE

This is your basic cheese pizza, but it’s not THAT basic. Our delicious tomato sauce with a fantastic five cheese blend. It’s a whole new meaning to cheese pizza! Pair this pizza with a good ‘ole Pale Ale - a classic pizza deserves a classic beer, after all! Pale Ales have a pungent hop, but it’s also restrained with just enough bitterness to work with the cheese.

PEPPERONI CLASSICO & SOUTHERN PECAN BROWN ALE
Like cheese pizza, a classic pepperoni is about as Italian American as you can get. The flavorful tomato sauce paired with the 5-cheese blend, flavored pepperoni, & basil are exceptional! The slightly spicy notes from the pepperoni pair wonderfully well with the malty-ness of a brown ale. Especially when it has some caramel sweetness like you’ll find in our Southern Pecan.

MARGHERITA & STELLA ARTOIS
We make a fantastic Margherita pizza. The basil pesto sauce, fresh soft mozzarella, & MORE basil make for a wonderful burst of flavor. When you want a great beer pairing for this pizza, give the Stella Artois Lager a try! The crisp flavors in this pizza call for and complement this nice lager. It pairs well with the crust and the sauce to make for the perfect pizza eating experience.

POLLO & BUFFALO SWEAT
A classic chicken pizza with our famous tomato sauce, signature cheese blend, chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, artichokes, & basil. This delicious pizza will pair wonderfully with our Buffalo Sweat beer. It’s an oatmeal stout and a dark beer. The dense, dark beer will cut through the rich flavors of chicken, and the dark finish of basil and pesto work wonderfully together.

HAWAIIAN & CONTACT HIGH
Hawaiian pizzas can spark some controversy at the dinner, table, but for those who love pineapple on their pizza, we have an incredible pizza to offer! It’s topped with tomato sauce, pineapple, & Canadian bacon. If you’re looking for a good beer pairing with this pizza, we suggest the Contact High. It’s a pale wheat ale from 4 Hands, and it boasts of a beautiful orange hue with incredible citrus aromas. This pairs well with the pineapple and bacon in the pizza!

Hot Summer Nights 2018

We skipped spring and headed straight into those HOT SUMMER NIGHTS! You read that right, TONIGHT is the kick off for the Hot Summer Nights tradition, and we hope that you make plans to come out. If you've never been on the Bagnell Dam Strip for Hot Summer Nights, we have all of the details right here for you. Along with some details about the rest of the summer, and a few menu items we think you should choose for dinner *wink*.

Hot Summer Nights 2018

This fun, summertime event has been a local favorite since 2008. It's been around for a decade now, and it's been voted the BEST event at the Lake of the Ozarks several years in a row. There's plenty of food, family, fun, and of course, those incredible cruisers and motorcycles that everyone loves. This is a great way to get out on the Bagnell Dam Strip and appreciate the historical aspects of the Lake of the Ozarks. If you've never been, tonight is a great time to start! Here are a few of the themes for the summer.

May 11th - "Here Comes Summer!"

June 8th - "The Mother Road, Rt. 66 - Still Kickin"

July 13th - "Rods & Rock 'N' Roll"

August 10th - "Keep on Cruisin"

Military, Polie, Firefighters, & EMTs

Each event will start at 6 PM and go until 11 PM. But you may want to get here early so you can get a good parking place! This great event is a presentation of the Bagnell Dam Strip Association, Inc.

This event is FREE and requires no registration. Come out to the Bagnell Dam Strip and enjoy the down to earth, Lake of the Ozarks hospitality.

Come Out For Hoagie Day!

Did you know that there is an entire day dedicated to hoagies?? Every year on May 5th, Hoagie lovers unite to celebrate a delicious day. Luckily for you, you have the best hoagies at the Lake of the Ozarks located right down the road at Casablanca! Our hoagies aren’t just your average sandwich, though. We bake ours especially in our brick oven for impeccable flavor, and each sandwich comes with our legendary cheese blend, Roma tomatoes, caramelized onions, Aioli sauce, and a bag of chips. You’re not leaving here hungry! Keep reading to learn more about our hoagie sandwiches, as well as some fun facts about hoagies to celebrate such a momentous day!

Fun Facts About Hoagies

1. The original “hoagie” is what is now referred to as an “Italian Hoagie.” It includes a variety of traditional Italian lunch meats, including dry salami, mortadella, capicola, and provolone served with lettuce, tomato, and onions with a light vinegar and oil dressing.
2. Former Philadelphia mayor (also once Pennsylvania governor) Ed Rendell declared the hoagie the “Official Sandwich of Philadelphia”.
3. Most hoagie shops offer single-meat hoagies (for example, ham or salami hoagies) as well as premium hoagies with upscale ingredients: prosciutto, imported Italian lunchmeats (cotechino, mortadella, soppressata, etc.). A popular variant is the grinder or cosmo, which is essentially a hoagie that has been toasted under a broiler.
4. Many takeout shops in Chicago sell a “hoagy”, usually containing steak and other ingredients, with the option of being “heated.” They also sell cheesesteak, referred to most often as “Philly Steak.”
5. In many areas, the default cheese on a hoagie is Provolone, while in others it is white American cheese. Cheese-only hoagies (Provolone, American, or Mixed) replace the meat with extra slices of cheese.

The Italian

This is your standard, delicious hoagie with Capicola, Salami & Ham on a locally baked hoagie roll. We’re all about flavor and this sandwich has it!

The Grotto

No menu would be complete without a salute to our incredible facility. The Grotto is packed with Canadian Bacon, thinly sliced Rib-eye & pepperoni on a locally baked hoagie roll. It’s fantastic, and you don’t want to pass this one up.

Ham & Cheese

This may sound like a standard sandwich, but it’s packed full of fresh flavors and fantastic toppings. The fresh Italian roll is filled with freshly sliced ham, our legendary cheese blend, and finished with our specially seasoned greens.
